Every student is allocated to one of 6 Houses based on the theme of Greek goddesses. Each House has its own colour, logo and moto. You are issued a badge in the House colour with the House name on that you are expected to wear on your blazer.
Houses
Aletheia (red) – Goddess of truth, truthfulness and sincerity.
Eirene (orange) – Goddess of peace.
Hestia (yellow) – Goddess of hearth (fire), home, architecture, family and the state.
Athena (purple) – Goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law & justice, mathematics, strength, war, the arts, crafts and skill
Iris (green) – Goddess of the rainbow, new endeavours and communication.
Hera (blue) – Queen of the Gods & Goddess of women.
House Leadership
Head of House – This is a sixth form student who is chosen to represent and lead the House each year. They are in charge of the other House Captains.
House Captains – Each House has one House Captain in each year group. A new House Captain is chosen each year.
House leaders meet regularly as a whole House Committee and as individual Houses.
The House Shield and House Cup
The House Shield – This is awarded every term to the House who has won the most points within that particular term.
The House Cup – This is awarded at the end of the year to the House that has accumulated the most points over the whole academic year.
As well as House Points that you win in lessons or tutor time, you can win House Points by competing as a tutor group in the House Quiz each week and through House competitions.
